What do you give babies and toddlers?
The most important points in brief
- It feels like it is harder to choose Christmas presents from year to year.
- This usually applies to both family and friends.
- When it comes to giving presents to babies and toddlers at some point, there is often a lack of the right ideas for presents.
- Then it often only helps to ask the parents - or read this guide.
Who does not know it: In the run-up to Christmas you are invited to a friend's house or you invite them to your home, a nice tradition. At some point, children are usually involved, and even if there is an - often unspoken - agreement with the parents not to give each other presents: You want to give babies and toddlers at least small Christmas presents, if only to make them shine to be able to see the children's eyes. But what is even possible?
Often personal experiences are perfect gift advice
Sure, you are on the safe side if you ask your parents. What else can you need, which toys is your toddler missing? Many parents are definitely looking forward to these inquiries. In addition, this often avoids giving things that the baby or toddler already has. In that case, your present threatens the fate of being given away from the parents to another child.
If you are a parent yourself, think about your own experiences with gifts for your child or children. There are sure to be some great things that friends or relatives give you and that went down perfectly with the offspring, but which you would probably never have thought of yourself. This can be a bouncer, for example, in which babies feel comfortable alone from a few months (and thus help mom or dad to have a “free” half an hour). A baby play arch made of wood, under which the little ones lie and marvel at the attached shapes - rings, balls, rattles, etc. - and at some point can also grab, could be a great idea.
Animals are always good
If you are completely unsure and do not have the opportunity to ask your parents beforehand, then there is a comforting certainty: animals are always well received. Of course, no real animals, but rather some made of fabric, for example as a comforter, as a plush toy to cuddle or as a motif on a pillow, for example. Bath ducks and the like are also always popular. Small children usually close the animals tightly to their hearts to cuddle and keep them there for a long time.
Keyword bathroom accessories: A bath sponge, fragrant bubble bath balls or - for slightly older toddlers - bath additives with effects are usually a great idea. Many children love to splash around in the warm bathtub, and colored or popping bath products double the fun. Maybe you hit the mark with a fluffy bathrobe for toddlers?
Stay away from sugar
What you shouldn't give away to younger children: sweets. Many parents do not allow their children to come into contact with sugar in the first few years of life, and for understandable and understandable reasons. When the little ones get chocolate or an advent calendar with sweets from their visit, they might sit in the nettles with such a present.
